They must have known that they are two weeks old. They celebrated big. All of them had their eyes open by tonight and all of them can sit and walk for brief periods. Two of the boys decided tonight that it was time for their first jail break, climbing over the edge of their whelping nest to get to mom who was lying a few feet away. Needless to say it was time to pull out the exercise pen and surround the whelping nest with it.
Today was also the first time that the pups seemed to intentionally interact with each other and play rather than just crawling over each other in search for warmth or a tasty snack from mom.
With their eyes open and their activity level going up they take on much more personality, not at all the whippet sausages of a week ago.
We are sharing a lot of the photos here we took last night and earlier today but hope to put a few on Facebook as well soon.
